Miracle League
The Miracle League is a baseball league for children with developmental disabilities.
Every Saturday from May to July, over 200 children from all over central Ohio play baseball on a specially-designed field at Darree Fields in Dublin with the support of their volunteer “buddies.” Buddies are middle school, high school or adult volunteers who assist players while they are batting, running the bases and playing in the field.
Buddies must be 11 years or older or in at least 6th grade. This is an excellent opportunity to earn service hours for you or your school. Buddies are usually paired up with the same player for the entire season.
The 2016 season will begin on Saturday, April 30th, 2016 and continue through Saturday, July 16th. There is a t-shirt pick up and fun day April 24th, 2015. There are eight 2-inning games every Saturday except Memorial Day weekend and July 4th weekend. The time commitment is about 1-2 hours each Saturday. Games run all day on Saturdays.
If you are interested in becoming a buddy, you can register on-line at www.ohiomiracleleague.org. Click the buddy registration link! Questions about Buddies can be directed to Megan Temple at MLBuddyCoordinator@gmail.com.
